The indoor cycling studio “Refuse” has recently opened its doors in Guadalajara, offering a unique and vibrant cycling experience to enthusiasts.
Inspired by Tradition
Drawing inspiration from the prestigious Tour de France, known for its rich tradition and multiculturalism, Refuse pays homage to the event’s iconic posters from the 1920s to the 1950s.
Aesthetic Challenge
The interior design of Refuse aims to challenge the conventional aesthetics of cycling studios through a strategic interplay of color, light, and materials.
Embracing the Journey
In this second establishment, the designers have chosen to highlight the endurance and spirit of long-distance cycling by leaving the ceiling exposed in concrete, symbolizing the rugged terrain traversed in the Tour de France. The walls and doors are also adorned with concrete, creating a motivational and dynamic atmosphere for users.
Mimicking the Race
Much like the Tour de France itself, Refuse is divided into distinct stages. The reception area welcomes cyclists with the brand’s subdued colors, while three-level stands mimic a podium, encouraging camaraderie before and after the challenge.
Urban Vibes
Moving into the preparation area, the ambiance shifts to a more urban environment, characterized by intensified colors and carefully selected materials. Illuminated mirrors, geometric shapes, and vibrant colors define the bathrooms, serving as a transition space before entering the studio.
The Ultimate Challenge
Entering the darkened cycling studio, cyclists are enveloped in a captivating interplay of deconstructed lights, igniting their determination to push themselves to the limit without hesitation. Refuse Indoor Cycling II promises not just a workout, but an exhilarating journey through the world of cycling.
